Gunshot wounds:
This is by far the most occurring type of injury. The severity of the wound is dependent on the location, size of caliber, exit wound(s) present yes or no, consciousness of the patient, and so on.
Treatment:
Pack the wound with gauze. If the wound is located near the chest, listen to the quality of breathing and apply a chest seal depending on the quality of breathing. Make sure to check if the wound is trough and trough, if so pack both sides.
Stab wounds:
This is almost identical to Gunshot wounds but if the knife is still in the patient KEEP IT THERE and secure it with bandages as it's stopping the bleeding on it's own. Transport the patient to the hospital so the knife can be removed.
Amputation:
When a limb is removed from the body due to it being cut off or ripped off. Immediately apply a tourniquet above the wound to stop the bleeding. Make sure to take the lost limb and put it in a sealed bag, and put that sealed bag in another sealed bag with cold water or ice.
Spinal Injuries/Broken Bones:
When working with broken bones you need to stabilize the bone(s) so the injury doesn't worsen. Spinal injuries work the same but are more sensitive, this is why you keep the neck as stable as possible. You do this by putting a c-collar around the neck and using a spinal board instead of a backboard(A backboard works as well if there are no spinal boards available but they are just less stable for the spine.).
Cardiac Arrest:
When a patient doesn't have a pulse you will not transport until the patient has regained a pulse. You do this by hooking the patient onto an AED and following the AED instructions. As soon as the patient regains a pulse you will transport via ambulance or airlift if the patient is in a remote area.
Impalement:
Keep the object stable with a packing bandage. DO NOT REMOVE UNKNOWN OBJECT! If the unknown object is attached to anything either transport the patient with the object attached or remove the attached object while keeping it inside the patient.
Burn wounds:
Cool down the burned area with soaked gauze/regular cloth.
